Public Map - Reveals Location of Members (Privacy issue)

I think we need to make it explicit to members that when they share something publicly it means it's shared with the widest definition of the 'public' - including people who are not members of Hylo.
My assumption when choosing between Public or Group based privacy/permissions that public means other members of Hylo.
This might inadvertently expose member's data (location, photos, activities) to people that are beyond the expected audience of members posting on Hylo.

only if they've made a public post that has a location attached to it. in which case you can see the location of the post, not the person. i hear you saying you think we need to make more clear to people that if they make a post public it will be truly public? i think we already do that, but may be worth asking our community.

Tibet, the picture shows the coordinates of the person...at least that's how I see it. When I thought it was just inside the Commons, I wasn't as concerned. The information available to the general public, IS concerning. Yes, they could join Hylo, and hopefully the membrane to join will be more secure in the future.
